Choose the size of the polishing wheel

The power of the motor determines the size of the polishing wheel, and it is necessary for the motor shaft to match the aperture of the polishing wheel. Place the polishing wheel in the center of the shaft and tighten it with a wrench. The best polishing effect can only be achieved by having a uniform linear speed on the surface of the polishing wheel. Therefore, if a larger polishing wheel is used with a smaller motor, the linear speed will decrease significantly during polishing, and the polishing effect will be affected.

Using polishing wheels and polishing

The direction of rotation of the polishing wheel is towards you and has achieved sufficient speed. Gently lean the polishing wax against the edge of the wheel and ensure it is below the horizontal surface of the rotating shaft until the surface is covered with wax. Gently lean a clean metal piece against the outer surface of the wheel for a few seconds to open the wax. Repeat several times to evenly cover the wax on the surface. After the surface is completely covered with wax, the polishing process can be carried out. If necessary, apply polishing wax to the wheels again (it is best to remove the wax from the wheels before applying). The wheels used for rough polishing, intermediate polishing (cutting polishing), and fine polishing (polishing) should be separated and must be separated, otherwise the polishing process will be scratched by rough particles on the surface.

Correct use of polishing wheels

Rotate towards oneself and run at full speed. Use polishing wax to lean against the edge of the wheel for a few seconds, so that the wax adheres to the wheel (do not place the wax on the already polished object). Hold the workpiece tightly and lightly against the wheel surface, ensuring that it is below the horizontal plane of the wheel center axis, otherwise the wheel may throw the workpiece out of its hand. The correct operating method is to quietly touch the wheel surface with the workpiece and then remove the workpiece.

This helps to remove sharp corners on the surface and avoid spots. Add wax if necessary, but do not overdo it. If excessive, it will cause many deep mottled marks on the workpiece. If too much wax is accidentally used, wipe it off with an iron brush or other means, and reapply if necessary. Do not force the wax onto the surface of the wheel, let the wheel rotate freely.

When the workpiece enters the precision polishing (polishing) process, there should be no rough particles left in the wheel, otherwise scratches will occur. After polishing, wipe the surface of the workpiece with a soft cloth dipped in talcum powder to remove the wax. If necessary, dewaxing treatment should be carried out on the workpiece.
