Balance requirements for diamond grinding wheel equipmentGenerally, diamond grinding wheels with a diameter greater than 125mm need to be balanced so that the center of gravity of the grinding wheel coincides with its rotational axis.Unbalanced diamond grinding wheels may vibrate during high-speed rotation, affecting the machining quality and machine tool accuracy. In severe cases, they may also cause machine damage and grinding wheel fragmentation. The main causes of imbalance are uneven density of various parts of the grinding wheel, asymmetric geometric shapes, and equipment biases. Therefore, before equipping the diamond grinding wheel, it is necessary to balance it. There are two types of balance for the grinding wheel: static balance and dynamic balance.

In one case, only static balance is required, but in high-speed mushroom cutting (speed greater than 50m/s) and high structure grinding, dynamic balance is required. The following figure shows the static balance equipment for grinding wheels. When balancing, the grinding wheel is installed on the balance spindle, and then the installed spindle is placed flat on the balance guide rail of the balance frame. The grinding wheel will swing back and forth until the swing stops. A balanced grinding wheel can remain stationary in any direction. If the diamond grinding wheel is unbalanced, the heavier part always turns downwards. At this point, the position of the balance block can be moved to achieve balance. A balanced grinding wheel must undergo a crack inspection before being transported to the machine tool spindle. Cracked grinding wheels are not allowed to be used. An elastic pad of 0.5-1 volume should be placed between the grinding wheel and the flange during equipment operation: the diameters of the two flanges must be equal, and their dimensions are generally half of the diameter of the grinding wheel. There should be a certain gap between the grinding wheel and the grinding wheel shaft or step flange to prevent the spindle from expanding due to heat and causing the grinding wheel to crack. The method of balancing diamond grinding wheels: Install several balancing blocks into the circular groove of the grinding wheel flange, and adjust the orientation of the balancing blocks to make the center of gravity of the grinding wheel coincide with its reverse axis.Article source: Diamond grinding wheelhttp://www.jm-nanhua.com
