Regarding the polishing wheel of general weaving methods, in addition to varying hardness due to different fiber types and texture density, different manufacturing methods can also result in varying hardness. Polishing wheels commonly used for rough grinding, where each layer of cloth is bonded together with adhesive. Regarding the polishing wheel for sewing, due to the different sewing methods and their densities, their hardness also varies, and it is primarily used for intermediate grinding. When precision grinding metal, a polishing wheel (100sebuff) made by tying the soft fine cloth tightly from part to part should be used. Even with the use of fiber polishing wheels, their hardness still varies. Polishing wheels made of hard fibers like hemp can be used for rough grinding (such as sisalbuff), and some polishing wheels mix hemp and other fibers to adjust hardness.

In recent years, many polishing wheels have used cross grain polishing wheels, which are different from polishing wheels in general weaving methods. They do not cause wire chips caused by thread breakage and can extend the lifespan of the polishing wheel. Additionally, because it is installed on a fixture with multiple pleats, it has good ventilation and cooling effect, which can prevent ignition during polishing. The hardness of this polishing wheel varies depending on the type of fiber used, the number of fibers, the density of folds, the radius of the fixture, and the density of the seam method. If the fibers are to have appropriate hardness, resin processed fibers can also be used.

What types of polishing wheels are available

1. Integrated fabric wheel. Made with delicate and soft cotton cloth, it is suitable for polishing complex shaped workpieces or for precision polishing of small workpieces.

2. Stitching type. It is often made of coarse cloth, non-woven fabric, and fine plain cloth. The stitching can be in the form of concentric spiral or direct radiation. It is suitable for polishing various coatings and operations with simpler shapes.

3. Air cooled cloth wheels. Using a 45 degree angle wire cutting method, it is in a circular and wrinkled shape, equipped with metal discs, and has the characteristics of ventilation and heat dissipation. It is suitable for polishing large workpieces.
